People: Me, Diego
Duration:7:30 pm -1:00 am approx.
Tide: Turning, falling (http://www.irishtimes.com/weather/tides.html)
Weather: clear skies, cold, flat sea
Bait: lug, mack, squid
Result: whiting, rockling, scorpion fish, other sea creatues

Hit Ennereilly with Diego to use up last of lugworm, etc. We also had mackerel and some squid with us. Ended up with about 30 whiting between us, the biggest was 22 cm, but Diego also hooked a scorpion fish and a rocking. I also managed to haul in a starfish, while Diegeo matched that with a clam...:). Started slowly, but as the tide ebbed more it got fairly steady with the whiting coming in two at a time, most on lug, but the rest took the mack.

Temperatures got down to minus 6 C, and the old lugworm (left from the Courtown site meet event) was freezing hard. I kept a few slices of mack in my pocket to thaw out in advance of the next cast. Very bright too, we hardly needed our headlamps.

Not a bad session at all.

People: me and Nik

Duration: 21:30 - 00:30

Tide: rising

Weather: calm and peaceful, not too chilly

Bait: razor, mackerel, lug, sandeel, squid

Rigs: 4/0 clipdowns and 3 hook flappers

Results: whiting, whiting, whiting...

Report: Had high hopes for this mark as this time last year was fishing well for a variety of species (poor cod, pouting, whiting, coalies, dabs, ray) and thought it was a banker for getting my years species count up. Wasn't to be though with pin whiting appearing on every cast plenty of doubles and trebles among them, would have been a few counters among them.
Lovely spot and a lovely evening and was nice to get in amongst some fish, even if the variety I was expecting wasn't there.
Thanks to Pete for some left over bait that saved me having to go digging lug.
